Celebrate the Gay Freedom Band’s Sapphire anniversary with a collection of concert band music that has inspired our members for the last 45 years. Past Artistic Directors return to the podium, current member artists step into the spotlight, and the West Coast Singers sing along to take a musical journey through our rich history. Get a glimpse of our upcoming 45th anniversary celebration with a preview performance at our home, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) at Lafayette Park. Our member-chosen program showcases GFBLA’s rich history and the passion for music that keeps us coming to rehearsal every week. Musicians will share their stories between pieces in this hour-long preview of our Sapphire anniversary and we hope you will join us in celebrating 45 years of harmony!
Join GFBLA’s Concert Band at Bixby Park in Long Beach, CA for our annual 4th of July concert. We will be performing classic American songs and marches.
Visit GFBLA at our home in Lafayette Park as we play away the Sunday Blues with some jazzy friends!

What to expect:
There’s a grassy area in La Fayette Park that faces our rehearsal space. Bring blankets, chairs, picnics, etc. and enjoy some music in the middle of vibrant Koreatown! We’ll have cake and refreshments to those attending during the rehearsal break.
Parking:
Street parking is available. Those who sign up in advance are also invited to park in our gated parking lot.
