Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles

Founded 1978, The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles (GFBLA) is the second oldest LGBTQ+ community wind ensemble in the world. GFBLA provides public concerts throughout Southern California, offering a wide repertoire of music ranging from classical to contemporary.  

Our Mission

To promote acceptance and celebrate diversity by bringing together musicians from across Southern California for performance and educational opportunities that embrace equality, inclusion, and the love of music.

    What a great way to close out our epic #pridemonth!@gfbla Concert Band and our Member Conductor Workshop participants, Kelsi McGlothin (@heartshapeddog), Katherine Monroe (@katedelgadillo), Nick Keufler, and Jessica Hoover performed two “Pride & Popcorn” concerts featuring our movie music favorites.  The performances were held at our community partner facilities @heartoflosangeles and @mptf and made our hearts so full.To say we our proud of our community, these aspiring conductors, and all of our members is an understatement.
