
GFBLA - Any Band
The Production Assistant (PA)Ā is responsible for assisting GFBLA Band DirectorsĀ (e.g. Concert Band Director, Jazz Band Director, Marching Band Director) ā in planning performances, events, and shows from pre-production through post-production closure activities. The PA assists inĀ coordinating appropriate venues, talent, and elements of design for the scope of the production, working closely with the GFBLA Band Director, the Director of Communications, the Director of Operations, and within relevant GFBLA committees.Ā
Responsibilities and Duties
- Respond to and determine feasibility of performance inquiries on behalf of the GFBLA Bands.
- Collaborate with GFBLA Band Directors, Artistic Committees, Director of Operations, Director of Communications, graphic designer, GFBLA membership, external partners and volunteers to assist in the planning and execution of performances.
- Assist GFBLA Band Directors inĀ coordinating all elements of production within the ArtisticĀ budget.
- Maintain a “GFBLA Production Packet” for all assigned productions on the Artistic Calendar, updatingĀ and requesting information from relevant GFBLA departments.Ā Ā
- Ensure all production activities are closed/completed, including providing a finalized production packet to the GFBLA Band Director.
- Attend committee and production meetingsĀ to provide regular production updates and ensure that all relevant GFBLA departments are on track to meet production deadlines.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure that logistics (e.g., truck rental, instrument and equipment rentals, etc.) are proactively managed including securing volunteers to help with the productions.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications and graphic designer to ensure that art, design, and communications are purposeful, relevant, and in alignment with GFBLA branding.
- Ensure that all production-related activities are carried out in accordance with GFBLA vision, mission, core values, Bylaws, and policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Skills

- Event production experience preferred
- Project management skills and experience preferred

- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
